Families at the Ranch. Green Gulch Ranch encourages youth enthusiastic to hunting. We love to have families hunt on our ranch together and share their common interests in a beautiful outdoor atmosphere.
Season memberships are $700 each. Hunting season runs from September 1st throught March 31st of each year. Memberships are good for one year and include 20 pheasant or 40 chuckar or 40 quail or any combination. All memberships must be used the year they are purchased WITH NO CARRY OVERS.
Lodging is an additional charge not included with the membership, and is $200 per night per person. Lodging fee includes gourmet dinner and ready made breakfast. Beverages are included.
Dear Members,
This was one of the most unusual winters we have endured in the thirty years of living in the Sierra Valley. It seemed like the snow and rain would never end and it wasn't until the first week in June that the season finally changed, bringing us warmer weather. The wet conditions, that have delayed the start of our hay cutting by two weeks, also caused some rather unpleasant hunting days during the end of the season. In spite of the long drawn out winter we were able to conclude the year shooting about the same number of birds that we have in the past. However, the mantra " shoot your birds early" is still the best advice.
With the extreme wet conditions, the ranch has never looked this lush and green. The water earlier was literally pouring off the mountains, causing a variety of problems, but the grass is growing everywhere, so the cover this fall will be phenomenal. The timothy in the meadows is so tall, it is above the top of the barbed wire fence. This situation will provide us with the opportunity to hunt more areas with less dependance on sage brush as the primary cover.
We were hoping to have the rifle-pistol range completed last year, but unfortunately we never got to it. Hopefully, this summer we will find the time to complete that project. As I mentioned last year the membership price will be increasing by $50. Therefore, the cost of the membership with bird card will be $700. This should cover our costs increases for the foreseeable future. We are continuing our program to give a $100 of birds to any paying member that recruits us a new member. This has been a very successful endeavor to expand the club membership with new cliental and we greatly appreciate everyone's efforts.
When filling out the hold harmless form, please provide us with all the pertinent information, especially, email addresses. The contact numbers should be either your cell or home phone, since we might have to reach you on a weekend, if there is an unusual weather event. Office numbers that are closed these days won't help us to reach you.
